Tipping the scale
My weight had kind of fluctuated as an adult, but at my high of 240 lbs., I was really overweight. I had been a runner off and on, but I just couldn't run efficiently anymore at all; I was slow and cumbersome. I just felt like a slob, and I had a lot less energy. I stepped on the scale one morning, and that was the trigger. I had to change—it was as simple as that. So I called Nutrisystem.
I expected the food to taste a little bland, but I was wrong. It tasted great, and there was a huge variety. One of the most important things I've learned from Nutrisystem is portion control; that's a big deal. I watch my portions a lot more closely now. The program was really quite easy, especially for me since I don't like to cook. It worked out terrifically!
On the run
Now that I've lost the weight, I do a lot of running—I'm a very efficient runner now. And I just have a lot more energy. It makes me feel great and much more self–assured. When I go to a restaurant now, I think about what I'm going to order before I get there. It's a big deal—Nutrisystem has helped me a lot with the mindset you need to learn to eat in a healthy way.
